Terminology Used in the Review Timelines

Examples

*Note 1: The Request for Tenure Clock Extension Form [MS Word] is to be submitted to the Office of the Provost for extenuating circumstances that warrant the need to extend a faculty member's tenure clock.

*Note 2: The Notification of Birth, Adoption, or Placement of a Foster Child Form is to be submitted by the faculty member to the Department Head. The Department Head is to send a copy of the form to Vicki Walton, Assistant Vice Provost, Campus Box 7101.

*Note 3: On April 22, 2005 the Academic Tenure Policy was revised to allow initial tenure-track appointments to vary from exactly four years in order to allow the end dates to coincide with our RPT cycle and thereby avoid adjustments later. So, initial contracts can vary from 3 1/2 years to 4 1/2 years in length.
