Provost's Memo to Deans and Academic Department Heads

Date: May 11, 2011
To: Deans and Academic Department Heads
From: Warwick A. Arden, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
Subject: Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT), 2012-2012

This memorandum provides notification of the Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure schedule and expectations for the 2011-2012 RPT cycle.  Dossiers are due to my office per the following college specific schedule.  Please submit to Amy Jinnette, 201 Holladay Hall.

Staggered Deadlines:

January 9, 2012 – Design, Education, Management, Natural Resources, Textiles, Veterinary Medicine

January 17, 2012 – Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical and Mathematical Sciences

January 23, 2012 – Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering

The process details and all related policies, regulations and rules are available on the RPT Web site.

There will be no changes in the process for 2011-2012.  Please be aware, in response to Chancellor Woodson’s call for review of all policies, regulations and rules (PRRs) in the university’s policies system, this fall we will be commencing a process that streamlines regulations associated with the RPT process.  However, this PRR review will not affect the 2011-2012 RPT process. The regular campus process for PRR revisions will occur.

Each college will receive an electronic summary of all the mandatory cases broken down by department on or before June 1, 2011.  Corrections and any anticipated non-mandatory cases should be added to the summary and returned to Amy Jinnette by August 5, 2011.  Additional non-mandatory cases can be added until January 3, 2012.  Thank you for your diligence in this important process.
