Committee Charge
- The Council is advisory to the Dean of Undergraduate Academic Programs and shall assist in the development, revision, and evaluation of University regulations with regard to general education and the General Education Requirements for all undergraduate curricula, including:
- Reviewing courses for inclusion on the University’s list of courses which can be used to satisfy General Education Requirements (GER) and the responsibility for developing and conducting periodic reviews of the GER course lists.
- Working with the Committee on Undergraduate Program Review in developing guidelines for the qualitative review of portfolios submitted as part of the undergraduate curriculum review process. This responsibility may include providing direct consultation to faculty at the college and department level on preparing portfolios for review.
- Advising the Dean of Undergraduate Academic Programs on procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of general education and the General Education Requirements and related policies as they are implemented and for initiating proposals for policy revisions.
