OPENING
1. Andrea Atkin called the meeting to order at 12:29 pm.
2. No remarks from the chair.
NEW BUSINESS
1. The committee approved the minutes from the March 14, 2007 meeting.
2. Major Actions – Course Actions:
BCH 220 (New Course) – Approved with the following changes.
• Check box for consultation.
• p. 3. State the prerequisite.
• Course action form – last sentence. Offered only in Poland for study abroad.
• pp. 2-4 Student learning outcomes – clean-up
• Textbooks need a date
• p. 4. #5 Clarify attendance policy.
• p. 4. #6 Incomplete grades. Add a policy statement to clarify.
• p. 5. Clarify the grade ranges. What if a student gets a 90? What is the grade?
• Add the academic integrity policy of the instructor.
• Add reading assignments.
• On the course action form. Revise contact hours to 10. Add “four week course” in the catalog description.
BAE 473 (Revision) – Approved with the following changes.
• Add graduate course number at top of course action form.
• p. 10. Add cost for textbook/course pack.
• p. 11. Add the URL for academic integrity statement.
• p. 11. Add statement about instructor’s policy on incomplete grades.
• p. 11. Be consistent regarding “quizzes” and “exams” within the document.
• Add reading assignments.
3. Major Actions – Curriculum Actions:
BS in Engineering (BSE-EGR) (Revision) – Approved with the following changes.
• p. 4. Revise the footnotes so they line up.
• Change calculus courses to Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus III.
• Sophomore/Spring Semester Science – take it off list.
• Footnotes are difficult to understand. Select one of the following and then have long list.
• Footnotes #4 – Change COE to a prefix from engineering or an engineering course.
• Footnote #8 – Refer to the COE list.
• p. 5. Clarify EC courses on curriculum display.
PS Curricula – LAP, LPA, LIP, LLJ, LPP – Approved with the following changes.
• p. 3. Clarify statements at bottom of page 3. Should this be “all PS courses in the major”?

Syllabus sub-committee will meet in the Brown room immediately after the meeting.
