Who may attend?

The NFO is open to NC State University tenured new faculty who are registered to attend, and have a hire date from July 1, 2008 and for those who did not attend the 2007 NFO.

If you attended the 2007 NFO, you are not eligible to attend the 2008 orientation unless you have specific authorization to do so. Contact Virginia Howell at 513-3636 if you are in this category.

2008 New Faculty Orientation will be held in the Talley Student Center Walnut Room on August 11,12, and 13th, 2008. Online registration will begin on July 1, 2008.

Which Orientation should I attend

There are several orientations provided for new faculty members at NC State, and we hope you will attend them all. For example, the Human Resource Orientation is where you receive information on benefits, retirement, parking, and safety. This orientation is required. Several colleges and departments also provide orientation for new faculty. The Office of the Provost offers a New Faculty Orientation as a service to new faculty members to assist them in getting acquainted with the university as a whole.

Where else can I obtain information on resources?

There are many resources available on campus to support faculty work. A few of these include the New Faculty Workshops during the fall semester, information from you college dean and department head office, the Faculty Development listing web site, and the NC State University web site.
