New Faculty Orientation 2008
New Faculty Orientation is a 3 day event sponsored by the Office of the Provost and administered through NC State's Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. These workshops are for all new tenure track faculty who have come to the university since July 1, 2007 and did not attend the 2007 NFO, or who will be new tenure track faculty at the beginning of our 2008 fall semester.
The purpose of the event is to provide information, skills and resources for faculty to successfully begin teaching, research, and extension and engagement activities at NC State, and to familiarize faculty about NC State and the Raleigh/Wake County area.
The program provides opportunities for networking among new faculty members and introductions to university administrators. As well, the Chancellor hosts a reception for new faculty that have participated in the New Faculty Orientation. New faculty will have the chance to meet Chancellor Oblinger and Provost Nielsen, as well as Deans and other key administrators.
