McKimmon Center – Office of Professional Development

The McKimmon Center offers an array of professional development workshops, seminars, and conferences. The website provides current links to upcoming events as well as registration information

Office of Extension, Engagement and Economic Development (EEED).

EEED has a number of resources for faculty who wish to become more involved in extension and engagement and interdisciplinary activities.

Information Technology Division

Offers workshops in a variety of categories including accessibility, internet/web graphics, SAS, desktop applications, Mac and others. The website provides current links to upcoming workshops and registration information. The IT Division also offers a number of other services and informational webpages specifically targeting faculty that can be browsed using the service index.

Opening Doors: A Personal and Professional Journey

Opening Doors is a three-day retreat that lays the foundation for personal and organizational growth. Through this workshop participants explore a framework that deepens their diversity awareness and enhances their ability to create inclusive organizations. This workshop addresses personal and professional change as part of an understanding differences initiative of multicultural organizational development.

Human Resources

Offers 22 professional development courses designed for and open to all faculty and staff at NC State University. A course listing and further information can be viewed at the link above.

Offices of International Services

Offers an English As A Second Language course to NC State employees and international scholars. This course is designed for people who have fair to good oral skills in English. This course will focus on improving the basic English skills necessary to live and work in the United States. This course is free to all NC State Faculty and Staff. For more information regarding the ESL course, please contact the Programs Coordinator in the Office of International Services, 320 Daniels Hall at 919-515-2961.
